Nine Months- 12/19/14

Wow! I can't believe that Landon has been here longer than he was in the womb. I always knew time went fast, but having a child only further proves how fast time goes. Every day is something different, and although I miss him being a newborn, I love that he plays with toys, sits up on his own, rolls around, and giggles at everything. Every new stage is so much fun, but I want time to slow down! I am feeling especially blessed this Christmas season and I continue to pray for all of you!

Weight: 22 pounds

Height: 28 inches

Miles Traveled: 9, 648 miles! Landon traveled to West Concord to hang out with aunt Danielle and uncle Mikey, Ham Lake two times, and then to Saginaw/Carlton/Cloquet to see daddy's side of the family for Christmas!

Sleeping: He takes a 45 minute nap in the morning, a 1.5-2 hour nap at daycare after lunch, and then two 20-40 minute naps in the afternoon/evening. He sleeps well at night, which makes this mommy very happy! Typically he sleeps from 8:00-6:00, which works really well with my schedule.  When he is sick, he tends to get up once, but he usually falls right back to sleep.  He loves to roll around in his crib and usually ends up on his stomach on the other end of the crib.  Sometimes he gets mad when he is on his stomach, but usually he loves it.  Plus, I feel like he sleeps longer.  I also sleep on my stomach, so that must be where he gets that trait from.  He does like sleeping on his side, but it seems like his stomach is his first preference.

Feeding: He drinks approximately 3, 5 ounce bottles during the day and 1, 7 ounce bottle before bed time.  He also eats a container of fruit with oatmeal in the morning, veggies for lunch, and then veggies with meat in them for dinner.  His pediatrician said we could introduce small pieces of solid food, so I think we'll start that this week.  He loves to eat and drink out of our glass without a lid. He has gotten much better at picking up his puffs and yogurt melts and putting them in his mouth.  The yogurt melts tend to stick to his hand, so we laugh when that happens.  He is such an easy eater and I hope that continues as he gets older!

Clothing: 12 month clothes and 12 month jammies! I love all of his winter jammies that I've even thought about putting him in them during the day.  They look so cozy and warm, which is exactly why I love them!

Diaper Size: Size 3 Pampers

Looks: He changes on a daily basis.  I still think he looks a lot like me, but his hair is growing so fast and it is really curly in the back.  I love how it curls in a little spiral and I will be so sad whenever he has to get a hair cut.  We always part his hair to the right, so he has a little comb-over.  It makes him look like a little man! He is getting long and lean, with his big squishy cheeks and bright blue eyes.  He has four teeth and a roll around his wrists.

Nicknames: Ham Ball, Cheeks, baby Landon, lil' stinker

Likes: He gets so excited about many different things.  A few of his favorites still include: his musical sea horse, angel prayer bear, talking puppy, sit and stand play table (specifically the rhinoceros), pulling his socks off, BATH time, putting his face in the water, chewing on foam bath letters, scooting backwards, rolling all over the living room, playing "where's Landon... there he is," watching Bella, and listening to music.  The simplest things make him smile, which in turn, melts my heart and makes me smile!

Dislikes: Getting his nose wiped, clothes coming over his head, and getting stuck against the wall when he rolls around the living room. Pretty simple stuff, but he isn't a fan!

Personality: He is a ball of energy and smiles.  Whether he is laughing at Bella, smiling at his puppy, giggling when we play peek-a-boo, or splashing up a storm in the bath tub, he is always happy.  He gets a super high pitched shriek when he sees Bella and you would think he just won the lottery with his enthusiasm! If only Bella loved him as much as he loves her.  There are days where he just hangs out and is quiet, but those days are few and far between.

Randoms:
  • He has two teeth on the bottom and two teeth on the top! Yay :) I think a fifth one is trying to push through though...
  • He went to his first Christmas celebration with the Thompson and Jakubek families.  Daddy couldn't be there, since he had the flu, but mommy and Landon had a nice time!
  • He met Santa and loved watching him... he even tried to pull his beard down, oops!
  • He got another ear infection on his 9 month birthday, so that was a bummer! I could tell he wasn't feeling the best, but thankfully, he stayed happy and wasn't too miserable!
  • He celebrated Thanksgiving with mommy's side of the family and had a lot of fun!
  • He started giving us open mouthed kisses a few days before he turned 9 months old.  They are so slobbery and I love them!

2014 Christmas Card Link-Up

Somehow I came across a blog, through other blogs, about a Christmas Card Link-Up! I started reading different people's Christmas cards and I knew I had to share our card! We made Christmas cards in 2010, 2011, and 2012, but we skipped 2013 since we hoped we would be sending out birth announcements shortly after.  It's no secret that we have dreamed about having a child on our own Christmas card, so it felt so special to be able to have Landon on our Christmas card this year! People joked that we wouldn't put our other child, Bella the cat, on the card, but you bet she made it! I feel as if our family is complete and I LOVE how our card turned out! We also wrote a letter, but for safety reasons, I am not including that in this post.  If you want, please follow the link-up and show us your Christmas cards!!

I don't know who is all involved in the link-up, but I saw it on Lyndsey's blog! This is a picture of a picture, so it isn't the best quality, but you get the idea :)

Here is our 2014 Christmas card!

Landon's 1st Time Sledding

Landon went sledding for the first time on November 29th, 2014! It was around 40 degrees outside, and really sunny, so he was plenty toasty in his fleece snowsuit and hat.  My mom and step-dad purchased a sled for him that they wanted to try out, and my mother in-law had saved my husband's sled from when he was a baby, so we just HAD to go sledding! To say Landon LOVED sledding would be an understatement because I don't think the grin ever left his face.  He was laughing and smiling the entire time, especially when my mom would run with him and he would whiz right on by us!

I'll let the pictures do the talking:
Hanging out in daddy's old sled!
I think he liked it just a little!
Such a proud daddy <3
Wee! Hanging out in grandma B and Papa T's new sled!
Just chilling!
Life is good :)
We love the outdoors!
Merry Christmas from our family to your family!
Happy Birthday to the World's Best Daddy! We love you! Daddy turned 29 on 12/2/14!
Until next time, friends, God bless...

Landon Jay- Eight Months 11/19/14

Weight: 21 pounds (guess)

Height: 28 inches (guess)

Miles Traveled: 8,567 miles! Landon traveled to Ham Lake two times, West Concord to visit friends, Rochester to see family, and Adams to visit mommy at work!

Sleeping: Landon's sleep patterns have stayed pretty consistent from last month until this month.  He takes a 45 minute nap in the morning, a 1.5-2 hour nap at daycare after lunch, and then two 20-40 minute naps in the afternoon/evening. He sleeps well at night, so I am very thankful for that! He has started rolling around in his sleep, which means he ends up sleeping on his stomach! It freaked me out the first time, but since he can roll over, I am not too concerned anymore.  The minute we lay him down in his crib, he rolls to his side and arches his head back. He will stay in this position for a couple hours and eventually roll back to his back.  I love watching him in his crib, as creepy as that sounds. We put up the mesh bumpers so he doesn't keep getting stuck in the crib slates.

Feeding: He drinks either 4 or 5, 5 ounce bottles of formula a day and then he eats a container of fruit and two containers of veggies a day.  The schedule of his food changes, but that doesn't seem to bother him. He absolutely loves food, but that comes as no surprise because he is my child :)  When he turned 8 months old, we introduced oatmeal cereal again with a container of fruit in the morning.  This was our daycare provider's recommendation, since that is what is required on the food program, but so far it has been going well. He loves to drink out of a glass, without the nipple part, so we let him do that at times.  He gets excited whenever he sees a glass, which is funny.  He ends up spilling everywhere, but that is what makes it fun. He hasn't tried any people food yet, but I think we will start that a few things here and there in the upcoming weeks.

Clothing: He is in 12 month fleece jammies (due to his height) and then he also wears 6-9 month and 12 month clothes.  He only has a few 6-9 month outfits that fit, but I am trying to get the most use out of them because I love them.  I do have an obsession with fleece vests that have a hood and fleece pants! Landon has so many vest sets because I can't help but buy them because they are SO cute and cozy!

Diaper Size: Size 3 Pampers

Looks: He is getting more and more hair, which makes him look like a little boy! I am not ready for my baby to grow up, but yet I love his hair! His hair is still a dark blonde/light brown and it gets curly in the back.  He has chubby feet like him mommy and his poor toes are like his mommy's, too... sorry Landon!

Nicknames: The nicknames have pretty much stayed the same over the past few months, but the main ones are Bugaboo, Cheeks, and Ham Ball :)

Likes: Landon has quite a few things that he LOVES, one being his bath books. I swear that every time he sees his bath books he acts like it is the first time he has played with them and screams/laughs with excitement.  It is truly the cutest thing. I am thankful he enjoys reading and playing with them.  His musical sea horse and angel bear are his best friends.  The angel bear says our bedtime prayer, so it is pretty special. The minute he sees a puppy or Bella he beams with joy and flails his arms with excitement.  He can't get enough of Bella and that warms my heart. He loves to sit up like a big boy and play with his toys, stand at his play table and pull the rhinoceros off the table, drink out of a cup with ice cold water, read books, chew on foam letters, attempt to crawl, play "Where's Landon... there he is," watch the Christmas tree lights, and be around people. He is such a people person!

Dislikes: Being overly tired, having clothes pulled over his head, and when we are done eating... this boy can eat :)

Personality: He talks all the time and I could listen to him forever.  Whenever we show him his angel bear, talking puppy, seahorse, or Snoopy the bell ringer, he lights up and starts telling them all sorts of stories.  He definitely has my personality, when it comes to talking, and Cory's personality, when it comes to being fine just hanging out and playing.  I don't know any other baby who goes with the flow like he does and smiles at everyone. When we are at church, whenever someone walks down the aisle, he looks at them and smiles. How can you not smile when that happens? He does NOT like to have clothes pulled over his head after bath though, so then he gets a little fiesty, but it only lasts for a few seconds, so I don't feel like I can complain about that.

Randoms:
  • He still only has two teeth on the bottom, but his top two are almost through.
  • He came with me to vote for the first time and got a sticker from the election judge.
  • He got to hang out with my cousins and great aunt/great uncle while Cory and I went to a murder mystery dinner with friends. He had a fun time!
  • We had his vision checked because he still does some goofy eye movements/stares, so the pediatrician wanted to get it checked out.  The ophthalmologist thought things looked fine, so that was a relief! He did really well at the appointment, but after 30 minutes or so, he was ready to be done.  We don't go back until he is two, so let's hope things stay calm from here on out.
  • He celebrated his first Halloween and went as a bumblebee!
