Landon Jay- Two Months 5/19

In case you didn't see it in my other posts, I am going to make my blog private. Although I don't want to, for the safety of our little guy, I need to.  There are too many creeps out in this world, so if you want me to add you to the list, PLEASE comment with your e-mail address and I will add you to the list.  I am new at this, so it may take me a while, but that is the plan!

My little Bugaboo at two months old!

Weight: 12 lbs 4 oz- He totally skyrocketed this month and is filling out nicely!

Height: 22 inches
Miles Traveled: We thought it would be fun to see how many miles Landon has traveled since he was born because we have been on the go, go go ever since! Since our best friends and family live 2-5 hours away, we knew Landon was going to be a traveler. Thankfully, he LOVES his car seat and traveling! I have taken him on a few overnight trips to my parents/grandparents by myself, and although it went well, it is easier to have my hubby in the car with me.  In his first two months, Landon has traveled 2,150 miles and those are just trip miles, not miles to my work, the grocery store, Target (which I'm obsessed with), etc... wow! We went to my doctor's office three times, my grandparent's house twice, my parent's house three times, Rochester for an appointment with my grandma, Mankato to meet my grandma and aunt for lunch, and a few other small trips.  I hope I can keep track of his miles, but we'll see!

Sleeping: He will sleep for 30 minutes in his crib around 9:00 and then again around noon, but 30 minutes is pushing it. If I held him in my arms, he could sleep for hours... little stinker. He sleeps around 3.5-4 hours at a time at night because he is a hungry little guy!

Feeding: Around 6 weeks, Landon was miserable. He was constipated and gassy, throwing up, and crying a lot with a rash on his face, so we took him to the doctor because I had a feeling it was his formula.  Well, lo and behold, Landon has to be on Enfamil Nutramigen formula because he is allergic to dairy. Once he started this formula, he was a new baby and felt SO much better! Unfortunately, the formula is outrageously expensive, $36/can, to be exact, and it only lasts 4 days right now. This has been a big adjustment for us, financially, but it is worth it because he feels much better!

Clothing: 0-3 month and some 3-6 month! He has skinny arms and legs, so some of the clothes don't fit quite right.

Diaper Changes/Sizes: Size 1. He still doesn't appreciate getting his diaper changed, but if we talk and sing to him, it is a little bit better.

Looks: He has dark blue eyes, but his hair looks brown with a hint of red in it. He used to look so much like his daddy, but everyone says he looks like me now, so I need to pull out the baby books and really look at them. Regardless, he definitely has both of our features and I think he is beautiful, but I am biased!

Nicknames: Bugaboo, snookums, half-pint, and peanut!

Likes: MUSIC, activity play mat, Fisher Price vibrating rocker, car seat, walks, riding in the car, snuggling, and baths.

Dislikes: Same as last month- diaper changes, being naked, and getting his clothes changed- I am glad he is a modest baby!
Personality: His personality is coming through and it is SO much fun! He found his smile at 7 weeks (5/14) and ever since then he has been cheesing it up.  He also found his hands and tongue at 8 weeks, so he sticks his tongue out just a little ways and then smiles, which makes me smile. I keep telling him that he can't stick his tongue out when he is older, but for now it is cute :) I think he is going to be an easy going baby, but he will be a talker, since I talk to him non-stop!
Here are a few pictures:
Rocking out in his shades!
First date night since Landon was born- thanks mom and Tom!
Telling me a story- look at the hand movements!

Landon was baptized on Mother's Day <3
Landon's great-grandma made this gown and then all of the cousins wore it! On the skirt inside the gown, the baby's name, birthday, and baptismal date was embroidered by each new mama- what an experience!
Hanging out in his rocker!
Loving those dark blue baby blues!
Sleeping through mommy's student's baseball game!
Smiley boy!

Landon Jay- One Month Old 4/19

In case you didn't see it in my other post, I am going to make my blog private from here on out. Although I don't want to do this, for the safety of our little guy, I need to.  There are too many creeps out in this world, so if you want me to add you to the list, PLEASE comment with your e-mail address and I will add you to the list.  I am new at this, so it may take me a while, but that is the plan!

I wanted to take official "One Month" photos, but with the death of my grandpa and his funeral on Landon's one month birthday, it just didn't work out. Plus, in all honesty, I was so exhausted the first month and I was happy I made this collage.  I copied this from the blog, "Life as I Know it" so thank you in advance!

I can't remember everything from one month, but these are my best guesses!

Weight: 8 lbs 10 oz

Height: 20 inches

Miles Traveled: Started keeping track at 2 months.

Sleeping: Landon is a great napper when he is in someone's arms.  Since we travel so much, we are with our family/friends a lot, so he is always being held and loved by people. He sleeps in 2.5hour increments (since that is when he eats) at night and naps quite a bit, so that makes things nice. I try to sleep when he sleeps, but it always seems like there is something to do.

Feeding: I really wanted to breastfeed him/pump and bottle feed, but unfortunately, my milk supply never really came in. I gave it a good month, but I was only producing 1/2 an ounce when I would pump for 30 minutes from both sides, so I stopped.  We had him on Similac Complete Nutrition, but that made him super constipated, so we switched to Gerber Good Start Gentle. This was the trick for a while... He started out eating 2 ounces every two hours and gradually moved to 2.5 ounces and then 3 ounces by the end of the month.

Clothing: Newborn! I NEVER would've guessed he would be in newborn clothes, since our doctor predicted him to be a big baby, but newborn clothes are so fun! My step-dad went to Once Upon a Child and purchased a bunch of newborn sleepers for us, so that was fun because it made him seem smaller for a longer amount of time.

Diaper Changes: Newborn! We had to purchase newborn diapers because I exchanged the newborn diapers we did receive because I didn't think we would ever need them... I was wrong :)

Looks: Blue eyes and light brownish/blonde hair. Sometimes I think he has a hint of red in his hair, but it is hard to tell.  He definitely looks like his daddy with his big eyes and teeny ears, but I think he has my nose! He has the cutest dimple and I can't wait for him to show it off when he smiles.

Nicknames: Half-pint, peanut, snookums, buddy... these are the main nicknames for now.

Likes: MUSIC, his car seat, walks in his stroller/car seat, riding in the car, snuggling, and baths, once we figured out we needed warmer water!

Dislikes: Diaper changes, being naked, and getting his clothes changed- I am glad he is a modest baby!

Personality: He is a pretty easy baby. He had a hard time with the Similac Complete Nutrition formula because it made him super constipated and gassy, but once we switched that, things seemed to be a little bit better, but still not great.  He loves to look at the lights and is completely fine just hanging out and listening to people talk to him.  He loves people and is my little buddy!

Here are a few pictures:
I LOVE bath time!
Just hanging out on my activity mat!

Update and Password Protection

Honestly, I had EVERY intention to update on Landon and how things have been going, but somehow, the time just flies by and I don't have time write. Every time I would sit down to write, something else needed my attention... ahh the life :) However, now that I am back to work (for two weeks until summer vacation), I figured I better sit down and write about Landon so I have it for his baby book!

Landon has been an absolute blessing in our lives! I never truly knew I could love someone SO much, but I do! Every little thing he does I catch myself saying, "Oh, that is my favorite thing," yet I say it for everything :) I am still in absolute awe that our little miracle, the miracle God had planned for us, is sleeping in his crib, laying in our arms, smiling at us, crying his heart out because he is hungry, swinging in his swing, cooing at the lights, etc- I just don't know if it has truly hit us... wow!

I won't lie... the first two weeks were very tough on me because of my incision. Since I ended up have a c-section, I wasn't able to get out of a chair by myself and I couldn't lift anything more than Landon.  I had AMAZING help for those two weeks, thanks to my husband, mom, and dad, but it was still so tough to rely on other people to get up out of the chair. Regardless, I am EXTREMELY thankful for their help and I know the first two weeks wouldn't have gone as well if it weren't for them!

The end of the first month was also tough because my grandpa (the creator of the bumblebee nickname), passed away. Thankfully he was able to meet Landon, hold him, and talk to him, but it was really tough to lose him. I know he is in a beautiful place and I am thankful God gave us the opportunity for Landon to meet his great grandpa Gene, but it brings tears to my eyes to know Landon won't have memories with him in the future. One thing that I am still amazed at is the timing of how things worked out. Although I never want to go through another miscarriage again, those miscarriages brought us our Landon, our miracle. They brought us Landon during some of the darkest times with my family as we watched my grandpa die.  My grandpa was told he only had a few months left to live (in October), yet he held on until Landon was born on March 19th- he was determined to meet his great-grandson.  Landon came two weeks early, which allowed my grandpa to meet him when he was doing well and not too sick (Landon met him when he was 10 days old due to my c-section and not being able to travel)... 1.5 weeks after he met Landon, he went downhill and could no longer really talk, sit up, hold things, etc... God really does have a plan.

I probably take about 5 pictures a day (the first few weeks I took about 10-15/day), so I have WAY too many to share! If you are interested in seeing pictures of our little bugaboo more frequently, just follow me on Instagram- katiejeanne26 and I'll try to be better at posting pictures. If you are friends with my in real-life, I'm sure you've seen the hundreds of pictures on Facebook- oops. If you've been following our journey for a long time and would like to add me on Facebook, search for Katie Jakubek, but make sure to message me about why you are adding me.

Also, I am going to make my blog private from here on out. Although I don't want to do this, for the safety of our little guy, I need to.  There are too many creeps out in this world, so if you want me to add you to the list, PLEASE comment with your e-mail address and I will add you to the list.  I am new at this, so it may take me a while, but that is the plan!

I am going to work on his one month and two month posts now, so check them out later! Have a GREAT day, friends, and thank you for your continued support!
