Landon Jay- Eight Months 11/19/14

Weight: 21 pounds (guess)

Height: 28 inches (guess)

Miles Traveled: 8,567 miles! Landon traveled to Ham Lake two times, West Concord to visit friends, Rochester to see family, and Adams to visit mommy at work!

Sleeping: Landon's sleep patterns have stayed pretty consistent from last month until this month.  He takes a 45 minute nap in the morning, a 1.5-2 hour nap at daycare after lunch, and then two 20-40 minute naps in the afternoon/evening. He sleeps well at night, so I am very thankful for that! He has started rolling around in his sleep, which means he ends up sleeping on his stomach! It freaked me out the first time, but since he can roll over, I am not too concerned anymore.  The minute we lay him down in his crib, he rolls to his side and arches his head back. He will stay in this position for a couple hours and eventually roll back to his back.  I love watching him in his crib, as creepy as that sounds. We put up the mesh bumpers so he doesn't keep getting stuck in the crib slates.

Feeding: He drinks either 4 or 5, 5 ounce bottles of formula a day and then he eats a container of fruit and two containers of veggies a day.  The schedule of his food changes, but that doesn't seem to bother him. He absolutely loves food, but that comes as no surprise because he is my child :)  When he turned 8 months old, we introduced oatmeal cereal again with a container of fruit in the morning.  This was our daycare provider's recommendation, since that is what is required on the food program, but so far it has been going well. He loves to drink out of a glass, without the nipple part, so we let him do that at times.  He gets excited whenever he sees a glass, which is funny.  He ends up spilling everywhere, but that is what makes it fun. He hasn't tried any people food yet, but I think we will start that a few things here and there in the upcoming weeks.

Clothing: He is in 12 month fleece jammies (due to his height) and then he also wears 6-9 month and 12 month clothes.  He only has a few 6-9 month outfits that fit, but I am trying to get the most use out of them because I love them.  I do have an obsession with fleece vests that have a hood and fleece pants! Landon has so many vest sets because I can't help but buy them because they are SO cute and cozy!

Diaper Size: Size 3 Pampers

Looks: He is getting more and more hair, which makes him look like a little boy! I am not ready for my baby to grow up, but yet I love his hair! His hair is still a dark blonde/light brown and it gets curly in the back.  He has chubby feet like him mommy and his poor toes are like his mommy's, too... sorry Landon!

Nicknames: The nicknames have pretty much stayed the same over the past few months, but the main ones are Bugaboo, Cheeks, and Ham Ball :)

Likes: Landon has quite a few things that he LOVES, one being his bath books. I swear that every time he sees his bath books he acts like it is the first time he has played with them and screams/laughs with excitement.  It is truly the cutest thing. I am thankful he enjoys reading and playing with them.  His musical sea horse and angel bear are his best friends.  The angel bear says our bedtime prayer, so it is pretty special. The minute he sees a puppy or Bella he beams with joy and flails his arms with excitement.  He can't get enough of Bella and that warms my heart. He loves to sit up like a big boy and play with his toys, stand at his play table and pull the rhinoceros off the table, drink out of a cup with ice cold water, read books, chew on foam letters, attempt to crawl, play "Where's Landon... there he is," watch the Christmas tree lights, and be around people. He is such a people person!

Dislikes: Being overly tired, having clothes pulled over his head, and when we are done eating... this boy can eat :)

Personality: He talks all the time and I could listen to him forever.  Whenever we show him his angel bear, talking puppy, seahorse, or Snoopy the bell ringer, he lights up and starts telling them all sorts of stories.  He definitely has my personality, when it comes to talking, and Cory's personality, when it comes to being fine just hanging out and playing.  I don't know any other baby who goes with the flow like he does and smiles at everyone. When we are at church, whenever someone walks down the aisle, he looks at them and smiles. How can you not smile when that happens? He does NOT like to have clothes pulled over his head after bath though, so then he gets a little fiesty, but it only lasts for a few seconds, so I don't feel like I can complain about that.

Randoms:
  • He still only has two teeth on the bottom, but his top two are almost through.
  • He came with me to vote for the first time and got a sticker from the election judge.
  • He got to hang out with my cousins and great aunt/great uncle while Cory and I went to a murder mystery dinner with friends. He had a fun time!
  • We had his vision checked because he still does some goofy eye movements/stares, so the pediatrician wanted to get it checked out.  The ophthalmologist thought things looked fine, so that was a relief! He did really well at the appointment, but after 30 minutes or so, he was ready to be done.  We don't go back until he is two, so let's hope things stay calm from here on out.
  • He celebrated his first Halloween and went as a bumblebee!
